Well, winter is finally gone
And I waited for it so long
So until next time , my pal
I'll pray to see you another time
When I think of winter
I get chilled to the bone
Mom made homemade ice cream
We ate it without cones
I can't wait for it to snow
But after it gets here
I'm ready for it to leave
So I won't freeze my rear
Sledding down the small hills
Using cardboard for sleds
Then having hot chocolate
Before going to bed
What a fun time of the year
Making snow angels galore
We'd make one or two
Then we'd make some more
Forts made of snow blocks
So we could have snowball fights
Pushing, screaming and squealing
The fun soared to new heights
Jack Frost pictures on the windows
Oh, what a beautiful sight
I couldn't wait to see them
Beautiful pictures, all in white
We couldn't afford ice skates
So we used our rubber boots
We could barely move about
All tucked in our snow suits
Skiing was a total disaster
I couldn't keep my feet together
Wow! I could only pray
For some warmer weather
Mom, insisting we close the door
Yelling, "Were you born in a barn?"
Then she'd settle in her chair
With a basket of socks to darn
Oh, the joy of winter
It comes to soon too an end
We enjoyed playing in the snow
With all our neighborhood friends
After a few weeks of winter
Our parents would say
"I've had enough of this snow,
I just wish it would go away."
