I write
about someone I love
Who cares for me a lot
She’s done this for a long time now,
And falter, she does not.
She’s there for me when I feel down
And she helps me to get up,
Her strength is a surprise to me
She shares that overflowing cup.
Her name describes her to a tee
It fits her like a glove
ENGELINA is my angel’s name
A name, pure, like her love.
We married 50+ years ago,
That happy September day
Our time together, it has flown
The years just slipped away.
But memories of happy times
Are still with us today
We hope, for many more to come
To replace the ones that fade away.
Our daughters, two , enriched our life
With grandkids, four in all,
They bring us joy and love and fun,
Even though our family is small.
She is my wife, my friend, my lover,
My carer through my sickness days
I love her for the way she stands by me,
And thank the Lord for sending her my way.
