An Hour With You~
Rose petals
sweet with perfume
Drop softly to the ground
Forming a delicate carpet
As they settle all around.
The petals fell from the roses I gave you
Showing you are special to me.
Roses from my heart filled with joy
And love for a Mother sweet as could be.
Flowers were always your joy
As you filled the yard with beautiful flowers
Which you tended with loving care
Protecting their beauty rare.
Sharing flowers with family and friends
Gave you much pleasure
And you searched for the newest kind
You could find
Caring for it like a precious treasure.
Peonies, lilacs and a pretty rose
Were those you carefully chose
To place on a loved one's grave
In loving remembrance
Of the love they gave.
Dearest Mother, I honor you on this day
For all the love you gave
Through all the years
Sharing our joys and tears.
Though I cannot place roses in your hand
For you have passed from this earthly scene
I place them where you silently lie
In memory of the love I feel for you
And will forever eternity through.
