The one day in existence
like seasons, pass and change
from that day forward, different
life now rearranged
July was warm and happy
danced across the shore
with picture perfect mem'ries
in waves forever more
Visions of us walking
each footstep is retraced
if only for a moment
I could see your face
Sandcastle dreams of summer
embrace my inner child
ocean songs 'n dolphins
have stolen every smile
November brings a sadness
as flowers lay at rest
trees are cold, stand naked
birds squawk with protest
December snow will follow
with blankets purest white
shivers of frustration
tiptoe through the night
Clouds of gray will hover
remind me that you're gone
lonely tears of nightfall
will ballet into dawn
The wind will howl with anger
it's wrath felt in the air
a bitterness will torment
'til heart weeps in despair
Behind me stands a mountain
seems much to high to climb
yet from the top, soft whispers
hush now, please don't cry
That one day in existence
perhaps with time will fade
my strength restored to travel
along much brighter plains
