Once bound in a cocoon of darkness
It waited for the appointed time
For release to new life
As a beautiful creature to cheer and bless.

Transformed into new life
The worm became a beautiful butterfly
With exquisite colors bright and bold
Blessing our hearts its beauty to behold.

Like the butterfly our life can unfold
When bindings release
And we are free to blossom and grow
Incredible love and beauty to show.

Your friendship is much the same
As from the darkness of the unknown
It emerged with beauty wonderful and free
Bringing new life to me.

New life brings another chance
To give something worthwhile
To those who come our way
Touching their heart with love
Changing each frown to a smile.

May God breathe into our soul new life
At each dawning of the day
So we realize when there is strife
If we seek His face and pray
He will send peace without delay.

When we discard the bindings of the past
Knowing the safety of their clasp
No longer is needed for time has come at last
To breathe new life as we break free
And live the life God has for you and me..
