Oh Mother how I miss you today,
Each day your absence is there,
But on this Mother's Day I wish,
I could show you how much I care.
I brought you a rose of pink,
Tucked inside lace so fair,
It reminds me of your face,
Framed by your silver hair.
I cannot give the rose to you,
But placed it upon your grave,
You've been gone many years,
Yet your presence I still crave.
Is there a Mother's Day in Heaven?
Celebrated for all the mothers there,
Do they wear their wings of white?
In the jubilation does everyone share?
I miss you so much precious mother,
There is emptiness within my soul,
I'd love to kiss your cheeks once more,
And your soft gentle hands I long to hold.
I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day,
Enjoy the heavenly celebration,
I thank God you are forever free of pain,
Away from all worldly tribulation.
I will always love you dear Mother,
You hold a place deep inside my heart,
One day I too will journey homeward,
Then there'll be no need for us to part.
