My heart is very sad today,
And the tears just flow and flow,
As I came across a picture,
When you were 12 years old.

My heart is oh so heavy today,
More then ever before,
Just knowing that you will never,
Again walk in the door.

I was not there to hold your hand,
Or give you a kiss good bye,
And never in life will I accept,
The way you had to die.

Someday soon I will see you again,
With the angels up on high,
I know you must be happy there,
But sometimes I question why.

I know in my heart I must forgive,
But sometimes it’s very hard,
To even grasp that you are gone,
My heart is full of scars.

I can only pray you see me write,
This poem for you today,
I can only pray you are looking down,
And protecting us today.

And until the day God calls us home,
I will try to keep real strong,
And treasure all the memories,
That fills my heart with song.
