Tied in a bundle with ribbons of blue
Are precious letters from you
Written many years ago
Telling that you loved me so.

Letters from the time we met
I eagerly awaited each one to get
While I was away
And we kept in touch that way.

At first, friendly letters were those we sent
And later we wrote of love and marriage intent
Making arrangements for wedding plans
Changing from June to Christmas time
For the ceremony of yours and mine.

Living in cities far away
Letters we sent to bind our hearts and say
Our hopes and dreams were in tune
As we found a home
And prepared for our wedding coming soon.

After our wedding we were happy and content
Sharing our life and all it meant.
Special occasions were always remembered
With a card selected with care
And given with love letting each know
Love continued to grow.

When ever we were apart
A note or letter was on its way
To keep in touch
And share love still precious in our hearts
Growing stronger every day.

The years flowed sweetly along
And our life was blessed in many ways
With our hearts binding us close
Making us feel more and more as one
Sharing our troubles and cares
Made happier with each son
Who brought joy as we grew closer day by day.

The letters stopped when God called you home
But these letters from the past
Remind me our love has never gone.
From time to time I bring out those letters,
Yours and mine,
To read one more time
Remembering with happy tears
The love we shared through the years.
