~ An Hour With You~

It's hard to remember just how long that I've been gone
As I travel down this highway looking for
That old dirt road that leads to my home
I think about the times I rode my bike to school and back
Road
On that country road it seems so long ago I’m going home
Well the years have passed so swiftly
And my youth isn't like it was back then
But I’m going back to where I belong
Road
Can't wait to see my mama and my dad
Yes time went by so fast I left a boy of
Just 13 and now I’m returning a full grown man
Down that country road
Road
Country road please take me home again
Where folks are folks and friends are always friends
Oh time where did you go to let me start my life again
I've just got to go down that road again
Road
Well I learned my lesson the hard way
And I’m trying to get back where I was before
Going swimming in the old pond behind the barn
Where I’d ride my wooden horse
Road
Watching the sun go down
Behind the hills by my home
Trying to recapture the youth I left behind
Down that country road
Road
I just have to go back down that country road
Oh country road please take me home again
