In
our garden grows a tree,
It’s only five feet high,
It does not bear fruit yet,
Too young, the reason why.
It stands there for a lady
Who has passed away
She was like a mother
She cared for us that way.
Because our climate‘s changing
No rain fell for a while
The garden “looks” neglected,
But one thing makes us smile.
Next to that little tree,
A rosebush there, it towers
It too is there for her.
It’s yellow, full of flowers
The drought has no effect,
The other roses are suff’ring
But this one stands erect..
Aunty’s spirit must be tending,
Her rosebush in that spot,
We’re sure she has assistance
From that Big Gardener, God.
