The sky begins it's lighting
In colors from pink to baby blue.
Soft, pastel and glistening
To yellow, peach, and purple hues.

White clouds block the waking sun.
Darkness fills the mountain valley.
It's a battle between day and night,
As the sun begins to rally.

With its seeking out the shadows
The birds begin to cheer,
As calls increase from valleys and peaks,
Happy, for Spring is here!

Louder they call, and joyous.
Robins, Cardinals, squawking Jays.
All joining in so gaily,
Greeting such a lovely day.

Breezes, once cold, are warmer now
Stirring new green of the trees.
Blossoms bob and bow to them,
Free now of Winter's freeze.

The morning world awakens.
Spring dawn goes into day.
And Winter weary souls gladden,
Lovely April runs to flowery May!
