Some uncaring person,
Left me two abandoned kittens.
Starving, no more than bones,
There on my step just sitting.
I tried to find them good homes,
As I have a cat already.
But feeding them and petting them,
I had to just forget it.
They are so precious,
Gaining weight and lovely too.
The white one I named Angie,
Short for angel and true.
The darker one kind of Calico,
I named her D.D. short for Dare Devil.
She thinks she can overpower Angie,
And take her down to her level.
But Angie's a bright young kitty,
You can't boss her around.
Whoever left the kittens at my house,
Is a disgrace to our town.
Cruelty to animals is against the law,
They have feelings too.
They get hungry, hot and cold,
I guess that doesn't bother you.
Thank you for the blessing though,
They have brought me so much pleasure.
They've been to the vet for checkups,
And they're healthy, beyond measure.
They romp and play and now have toys,
But they'd rather chase the leaves,
Blown on the patio,
That's blown in from the trees.
Don't you worry even a little bit,
They will both be fine.
They're fed and watered every day,
And always right on time.
They were so weak and tiny,
They couldn't even meow,
But they have gotten strong enough
They can climb up trees now.

Below is a picture of my fur baby,
Calico. She loves sitting on the cover of our hot
tub, watching squirrels and birds..
