Feeling downcast and troubled,
I can't find my way,
I am growing more weary,
With each passing day.

I am heartsick and lonely,
My soul cries for peace,
My mind begs for freedom,
From thoughts that won't cease.

I cry out for help,
I am in such distress,
I seem to have nothing,
My life is a mess.

And than in my misery,
I hear a voice say,
You are not alone,
I am here every day.

He takes hold of my hand,
My soul is now free,
Jesus is right here beside me,
Like He said He would be.

My tears turn to joy,
And my day is now bright,
I feel the warmth in my soul,
From the Giver of Life.

I give thanks to the Lord,
For taking my hand,
He keeps me from stumbling,
And helps me to stand.

I have nothing to fear,
As I walk through each day,
For Jesus is with me,
Each step of the way.
