Although troubles and
trials,
May fill life's last few miles,
And heavy may be my load,
And though my strength may be almost gone,
I shall journey on,
With Jesus to my Heavenly abode!
Why should circumstances be different for me,
Than they were for the Hebrews Three,
Daniel, or Silas and Paul?
I too am a man,
And according to God's plan,
We're His children one and all!
Although unlike these men,
I've not faced fire or a lion's den,
Or been imprisoned in a Roman jail,
Before I end Life's race,
These similar problems I may face.
How soon it will happen is hard to tell.
Ah, but as a Christian my future is bright!
Some morning, noon, or night,
My Lord will call for me!
And whether I'm raptured in the twinkling of an eye,
Or live to a ripe old age and die,
With Christ I shall forever be!
So, if I face great peril and strife,
And for Christ's sake I must give my life,
My reward shall outweigh my trials here!
For when I stand before the King,
My happy soul will sing,
As all memories of Earth shall disappear!
