If I could ask for anything,
In this big world today,
I would not ask for riches,
Or gold in any way.
I would not ask for mountains,
Or treasures, hard to find,
I would not ask for precious gems,
That would sparkle all the time.
But I would ask for friendships,
That would accept me, just for me,
And I would ask for simple things,
That are precious, but still free.
I would ask for sunshine,
To send its hidden rays,
So we can see the beauty,
That brings us sunny days.
I would ask for all mankind,
To show a love for all,
And spread it all around like dust,
Just to see where it would fall.
I would ask for everyone,
In this big world today,
To show their love for Jesus,
Whatever comes their way.
