The first signs of morning light,
Are a beautiful sight,
As the sun prepares for its journey through the
skies!
My eyes capture the scene,
So peaceful and serene!
Ah, what a beautiful sunrise!
Though I have seen the sunrise many times
before,
I am awed once more,
At God's Handiwork in the sky!
This reminder it brings,
That in the scope of things,
Oh, how insignificant am I!
Ah, but then my heart swells with pride,
Remembering that for me Jesus died,
Though I was a sinner, lost and undone!
Then, as tears fill my eyes,
I suddenly realize,
I'm more important than the stars, moon, and
sun!
So, how can I be still?
Praise the Lord I will,
Lest the rocks cry out in my place!
Then, one day after awhile,
When I have "run my last mile,"
I shall see Jesus face to face!
