whispering soft, my darlings
Though I am far away,
I'll be telling you I love you
With all I want to say.
I'll be with you in your tears
For they are ours to weep,
Ours because of love
The love, we have to keep.
I'll be with you in the heartache
For, I know you loved me so,
But, don't be sad for long
I'm safe now, as you know.
You may not hear my voice
But, yours still is my tone,
Your words continue on
As if they were my own.
Your hands you'll see as mine
The ones that held yours tight,
When crossing over danger
Or crying in the night.
Your eyes will twinkle laughter
Of cute things that we shared,
Your heart will beat for heaven,
Because you know I cared.
Your feet will walk this world
With all the love we skipped,
Your steps will find my footprints
The love in God, I lived.
Your soul will cry with wonder
For all that's good and true,
So the arms that hold me close
Will also cradle you.
Yes, I'll be near, my darlings
For our love cannot go away,
You will carry me for always
In all you do and say.
