Hearing the birds sing
Announcing the beauty of Spring
I sit in my porch swing
Watching the return of Spring.
The brown Earth is turning green
The trees sporting buds
And the bulbs erupt from the Earth
As Spring finds new birth.
Oh the joy of Spring surprise!
Here and there I see beauty come alive
As flowers colorful and fragrant
Give off perfume sweet
My tired heart to greet.
I feel the gentle breeze
Caressing my cheek
Giving respite from the cold
As Winter takes leave.
With the coming of Spring
My languid heart begins to renew
Knowing Winter is through
As all around I see beauty of Spring
Making my heart gladly sing.
