The sun
begins to set and,
The horizon's enveloping me,
In its grip filled with loneliness,
An abyss that I can't seem to flee.
My heart aches and cries out,
Seeking solace from the pain,
Alone with uncomparable hurting,
My body explodes in torment again.
Weeping without ceasing,
I long to return to the day,
My life was whole and peaceful,
Your presence near me each day.
No shoulder to rest my head upon,
Arms to tenderly hold me vanished,
I ache for the sight of your face,
Without you my life has languished.
Days are just a vacuum,
Nights are corridors of pain,
I exist in a state of inanity,
Purpose of life I can't regain.
Heartache is my constant companion,
Wandering in a state of desperation,
Drifting along in loneliness,
Each moment is filled with trepidation.
Lord have mercy on my soul,
Life is totally without meaning,
How can I face another day alone,
I need Your Divine consoling.
