many ways of thought we hear
Skirting 'round and near to truth,
May we perceive, be careful, wise
To find what's really true.
To understand, no saving power
Is within the thoughts of man,
No book, no insight, seeming new
Can hold a better plan.
No revelation, varied choice
Will release from death and pain,
When they are merely empty words
Without God's life to gain.
Oh, hold us Lord, unto Your truth
To keep our eyes of faith,
So age old works disguised as new
Will be revealed as fake.
For the eyes of God range to and fro
Throughout this universe,
Seeking those committed to
The God of Heav'n and Earth.
Who will not hearken unto man
Nor be swayed by empty views,
Knowing life can not be found
In many paths pursued.
As no goodness can be found in man,
No light, no peace, no love,
Except put there by Christ's own heart
When Victory He won.
All tried reform is outward, false
And does not change a life,
No transformation ever found
But, by the power of Christ.
When we repent and turn from sin
Then He renews our hearts,
God alone, through Jesus death
Eternal life imparts.
He provides the Spirit's power
The miracle of peace,
Death and hate and hurt are healed
In Him, all heartaches cease.
May God find us devoted yet,
Believing in His truth,
That Jesus Christ is Lord of all-
No other word is true.

Poetry from the Heart
My hope lives not because I am not a sinner,
but because I am a sinner for whom Christ died;
my trust is not that I am holy,
but that being unholy, He is my righteousness.
My faith rests not upon what I am,
or shall be, or feel, or know,
but in what Christ is, in what He has done,
and in what He is now doing for me.
On the lion of justice
the fair maid of hope rides like a queen.
