“Home is
where the heart is,”
A wise person once said.
It’s a place to take off your shoes,
Relax, and rest your weary head.
It seems the older I become,
The more my home means to me.
You see, there is no other place,
That I would rather be!
It’s so wonderful to have my family,
Gathered all around!
For there love and joy,
And contentment can be found!
But, when I shall reach Heaven’s shore,
Having left this home behind!
In the New Jerusalem,
A better home I’ll find!
That eternal home,
Will be such a beautiful place!
I know I shall inherit it,
Only by God’s grace!
There I have friends and family too,
Which I am longing to see.
So, when I say “goodbye” down here,
“Welcome home,” they will say to me!
