Am I but a
seed
You O Lord let me grow each day
For You planted me and encouraged me
To reach out for Your love and compassion.
You were beside me all my days in the Winter
When I struggled for birth, into a wilderness
Of fear and treachery, but You sustained me
For against all odds I had a name.
To the Spring when troubles and joys of pursuits
To learn courage and walk with different dreams
Of life unknown to me and to be at one with
The nature of the future You had in store.
Summer to blossom like a flower on a Summer's day
To feel the sun on one's face after a shower of
rain
Walk in the fields of corn where Poppies grow
And hear the birds singing in the trees.
Then Autumn where memories of long ago may be
Wistful, but You Lord know my name and saw all
The mistakes which were like thorns. You were
with
Me from the beginning and will remain to
infinity.
