Our Town is not a
great big City,
But the people are kind and good.
I've lived here most of my life,
And I love it and I should.
I've made many friends through the years,
And they're like family you see.
I can call on any of them any time,
And they would come to me.
Their hearts are full of love,
They try to do their best,
When seeing their neighbor burdened
They pray to see them blessed.
Sometime we try our best,
To be a kind sweet neighbor,
But some people prefer to be alone,
No matter how hard you labor.
There are some in our Town,
And many that I know.
That's always been so kind to me,
Wherever I might go.
A smile can sometimes do more than words,
Or a kind deed in time of heartache.
Just a card to say they're in your prayers
May be all it really takes.
If you can bring a little sunshine,
Into some ones burdens and strife,
It's often all it takes,
To brighten up their life.
Giving of one's self,
Is like giving a gift away.
It feels much better to give a gift,
Than to receive one as we say.
