Today
I'm in my little corner,
Enjoying the peace and quiet.
I like to watch the river flowing by,
With waves moving so fast and white.
It's time I don't often get,
To spend the way I want to,
But then when I do,
I mostly think of you.
There is something really lovely,
About a sunny day,
That is quiet and peaceful,
From the City far away.
It lets you go where you want to go,
To Countries far a way.
To Hawaii or Florida,
Where things we don't see every day.
Most of all it is the time,
To get my thoughts and priorities straight.
We worry about silly things
And let the important things just wait.
Here in my little corner,
No one here but me,
I feel I can think and enjoy,
The feel so good of being free.
I like to watch the little tadpoles,
As they so busily swim around,
And it makes me laugh when,
I thing how people run around in town.
Always busy afraid of being late,
But wee little tadpoles they don't really care,
Whether they are late or not,
Because they're not going anywhere.
If life could be that simple,
And we would take our time,
Swimming in the sun in life,
That would be so fun.
But life is work and play,
And a little time for both,
But we must know the time that's right,
When it's time to work or time to loaf.
We can sometime spend too much time,
On vacations and playing and such,
Then soon we find we wasted time,
And find it cost too much.
Use your head and realize,
That we still have to work,
To accumulate the things in life,
Valuable to us all ...things of great worth.
