I climbed to the top of a little hill
On a clear and starry night
I was alone in the darkness
Bathed in the soft moonlight

A gentle breeze was blowing
Softly through the trees
The peace and the total silence
Brought me to my knees

My soul filled with calmness
As I knelt there on that hill
My heart rejoiced with happiness
Everything was so still

I thanked God for His blessings
For my family and my friends
And for His precious promise
Of eternal life that never ends

He gently whispered to me
As I walked so slowly home
My child you know I love you
See, you are not alone

Never will I forget that night
So quiet and so still
When God spoke of His Love for me
As I stood on that little hill.
