Lord, You
are the river of life that never runs dry
And that is why
My hope is stayed on You for eternal life
Free from trouble and strife.
The river is calm and serene
Settling the stress of life's scene
Giving me sweet peace
As all stress I release.
Sin tries to slip in
Destroying joy that is mine
So the waters of life flush the sin away
And Joy returns to fill my heart each day.
Winds of turbulence cause massive waves
That threaten to wash over me
But You calm the waters
And bring calm again to me.
The river of life is safe and pure
Giving hope certain and sure
That I need never fear
For my Lord is ever near.
The river of life flows in the right direction
And as I make the right selection
It will flow into my heart
Changing for ever the path I take
And what a difference that will make.
The flowing water of life brings assurance
That never will I sink
Nor come near the brink
Of death but live safe and free
Within Heaven's gates praising You for eternity.
