Yesterday's regrets come to haunt you
Of lost opportunities that came
Passed over for lack of time
Filled with frivolous things
That life often brings.

Little thought of the time
How swiftly life slips away
And regret for how it was spent
Seeing how swiftly it went
Until suddenly the future looms ahead
Shrunken, shriveled and old
With little promise to behold.

Regrets of past failure the golden ring to seize
Pressing toward the bright future one sees
Lost never more to return
And yet your heart does yearn
For time stretching beyond
To realize once more
You have been given one more chance
To recapture youthful dreams
Not by happenstance
But with purpose to achieve
Because once again you believe
To make it happen is up to you.

Let not regrets of the past
Hobble your steps
Holding you fast
But cut loose the strings
That tie you down
And venture on to make a new start
To realize dreams that spring anew in your heart.
