Why does part
of me
yearn for the South
I am not familiar
I have never been. . .
When I hear "Old Dixie"
Or any Southern tune
I get nostalgic
But. . .For what, or when?
I feel like going home
To a big house
On a huge Plantation. . .
Yet there is none
That I am aware of
Why do I get this
Eerie sensation . . .?
When I hear a Southern drawl
Or taste of, their well known dishes
I want to be there
to see all . . .
It's one of my favorite wishes
I don't know why
this happens. . . .
What reason, for it at all
'Though I know it will
Come to me again
That urge, for the South . .
and . . . Y'all!
