"Surely the Lord is in this
and I knew it not." Genesis
The soul is
an island separate unto itself
But needs love to embrace
And to receive as well
Nourishing the spirit which within does dwell.
Surrounded by the love God provides,
The soul feels no need to hide
But sends expressions beautiful to reveal
Love and joy that God's love is real.
The sea hugs the island
Acting as a buffer to shield
Just as the Spirit of God
Surrounds our soul as a buffer and shield.
Our soul is an island set apart
Making us seek God to connect and belong
Rather than to the worldly throng
And find a hiding place deep within God's heart.
The soul, though buffeted about by trouble and
Longs to be perfect in God's eyes
And seeks the peace of eternal life
Where the soul never dies.
God longs to make us His child
And offered His Son the price to pay
For sin that we might know the way
To salvation for our soul
And eternal life as His precious child.
