Lord, let me walk the solid
path
Should my Grandchildren follow me
For oft' times I only know in part
That they may be secure in Thee.
Angels light my path with patience
For therein we possess our soul
Where so many things go wrong
As we reach upward to our goal.
The youth's minds are filled with quest
With so many paths to trod
Directing them far from home
Leading far away from God.
Satan's artwork is famous today
With his prices raging high
Costing our youth their life's wages
Lord, to them linger nigh.
May they know that we love them
Should they stray and distant roam
For we have a forgiving God
And heaven can be their home.
Lord, light our path with love
Something stable they may see
Tis' love that will draw them
That they may put their trust in Thee.
It seems the road of lofty prestige
Is winning young soul's frail control
With peers at regions height
Victorious is satan's blinding role.
Let them see a Christian
That walks the narrow path
One that wavers not on their journey
That they may flee God's great wrath.
Their lives are so full of confusion
Lord, help us reflect the image of You.
That they may find the "Good Old Path"
A path only traveled by few...
The greatest path that emits the brightest light
As angels caress and guard each edge of its way
And Jesus there to lead us through
Hedged in that we may never stray.
Precious are the footprints while traveling here
Left by those that follow after Jesus' way
Those that lead to God's glorious heaven
To a street of pure gold one sweet day.
