There are
times, every now and then
I want to be just me.
Hushed, restful, in the silence
deep within,
just to sit and be,
to think.
Every now and then, my mind
I would unclutter
back to the simple things,
as peacefully I sit,
it may seem, alone,
just to pray and dream.
Sometimes I crave
the lovely sunshine, and I must
escape, into it's warmth
and pray through
thoughts of yesterday,
tomorrow and today.
I may want to shed a tear or two
as I ponder,
tenderly of you...
and love, in the beauty
all around,
within the pretty sounds.
And while there, I will smile
The longest while
and my heart will well up
with so very much I would like to say.
Just now and then
I will sit...
My Lord and I as friends

Poetry from the Heart
If there be anything that can
render the soul calm,
dispel its fears, sweeten its
sufferings by the anointing
of love, impart strength and
spread abroad the joy
of the Holy Spirit, it is this
simple and childlike repose in
the arms of God.
