Come with me down memory lane Dream a dream or two Many happy memories Are waiting there for you. Back to the days when Fathers worked And Mothers stayed at home All the villages were safe And we were free to roam. Days of AM radio No computers or cd's And having fun was Picnics underneath the maple trees. Sledding in the Wintertime Down a snowy hill A frozen pond for skating Never mind the Winter chill. Springtime, with its violets Their perfume filled the air Gathering those big bouquets That were such fun to share. Lazy days of Summertime Friendship and fun Roller skating, jumping rope Until the day was done. Roast beef for Sunday dinner With our family gathered round The chatter and the sharing Such a happy sound. Rainy days spent reading Curled up in a chair Feeling safe and happy Because our Mom was there. Running through the dry leaves When Autumn came to call Surrounded by such color Seen only in the Fall. God gives us special memories To enjoy with passing years And as we remember We often shed some tears. We thank Him for these treasures That stay deep in our soul Where each single memory Remains complete and whole. Enjoy your trip down memory lane Special days of long ago Thank God we have these memories No matter where we go. Judy Marriott© January 14, 2009 E-mail
