Once again I awoke this morning,
With a feeling down in my soul,
Jesus could come today!
And I know it will be without warning,
When He comes to catch His waiting bride away!
But, it could be some glorious morning,
I will be in my grave a sleepin',
Patiently waiting Gabriel's loud trumpet sound.
When I hear it I shall come forth
From my grave a leapin',
And I'll shout "Oh, hallelujah,"
As my feet leave the ground!
Come, Oh come Lord Jesus,
For I've got my lamp trimmed and bright,
And my wedding garment on!
I know Your arrival could be morning, noon, or
Then, in the twinkling of an eye,
I will be gone!
