Cancer, such a daunting word
We dread much more than all,
Grasping with a vice like grip
To saturate our whole.

Shall we investigate it's presence
To look at fear within our soul,
Can cancer overtake our life
Or are there secrets to unfold.

Does God know specifically our times
And hold our moments in His hand,
Rather than a shrouded unbeknown,
Might He keep a blueprint of the plan.

Could He hold some awesome wonder
To unveil with fragrant love,
Some sweet unfolding blossoms
To prepare our hearts for more above.

When such suffering comes our way
To tell us all He'd like to say,
Shall we be granted greater gifts
To ponder on each day.

The more we then depend on Him
For all of life's tomorrows,
Will our every breath contain
His peace, infusing sorrow.

How much more a greater joy
To find, than all we've known before,
A love beyond description
And trust more deep and sure.

Great and precious promises,
Understanding of God's heart,
Love beyond this Earth to treasure,
Looking upward on life's path.

Friends who bring such tender kindness
Sharing prayer and gentleness,
Family shelving other things
Desiring blessing of God's best.

A miracle of inner grace
Descending in to break the fear,
Each new day unfolding
More faith to cradle near.

Memories as tears keep falling
All relished more than gold,
More of heaven longed for, lived for
Love's comfort for the soul.

Cancer never yet can conquer life
For life God yet will give,
Love's beauty blooms within the cold,
Eternity, our hope to keep..
His heart's
compelled to make us whole.

Poetry from the Heart

And the time comes when remaining enclosed within the bud
is impossible when there's so much love to bloom.

"The Lord is my strength and my song;
He has become my salvation."
Exodus 15:2

"But he knoweth the way that I take:
when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold."
Job 23:10

Cancer
cannot cancel God's love
shatter everlasting hope
remove His faith within
destroy peace of heart
spoil real friendship
suppress sweet memories
silence His courage
invade the soul
steal everlasting life
quench eternal spirit
lessen the power of
the RESURRECTION!
~unknown~

The greatest enemy is not disease, but despair.
Keep trusting God's love. If cancer has invaded,
it cannot touch the spirit of God's child.
The body can be severely afflicted in the great struggle,
but by His love, He keeps the spirit of His own,
safely in His hand!

"First and Foremost, I am a Christian.
I believe that my cancer
didn't take my God by surprise.
I have no fewer days left on this Earth than
I did before cancer entered my life.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that,
no matter what happens, this ends well for me."

Hebrews 11:1
"Faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see"
