It is Christmas time again,
And we go rushing around,
Buying gifts and candy
Not seeing beautiful snow on the ground.

The holidays are upon us.
We fight for bargains galore.
Wondering what presents we will get,
Not hearing Christ knocking on the door.

We decorate our houses
With pretty, colored lights.
We do not see the lovely star
The shepherds saw that night.

The stores are all crowded
With people without their smiles.
We don't see the lovely world God made for us.
We ignore it all the while.

Perhaps we should all slow down a bit
And remember the sweet Christ Child.
Christmas is not to honor us, you know.
It is to honor Jesus as a Babe, so mild.

So Merry Christmas to all my friends
Have many happy days!
Be thankful for Jesus Christ our Lord
Who loves us, now and always.
