I
sat alone in the darkness of my room,
With only a candle for light
Pondering over things of the past,
That could have been, or might.
Life is a road we travel,
And valleys are sometimes deep,
But when life is lived with meaning,
No need for you to weep.
For life is a lesson for learning,
Not changing a thing lived in the past,
For each day had a special meaning,
Lessons learned that will forever last.
Sitting in the silence gives me time to think,
Of all the worrying over the past,
And be thankful for my life as is,
Which I appreciate at last.
Life is pretty much what we make it,
Success or defeat,
Depending on our attitude,
And mistakes not to repeat.
I love the early evening,
When the sun is setting low,
All the world has such beauty,
Just a golden glow.
Then I count my blessings,
And thank the Lord of all,
For He has given me so much,
And lifts me when I fall.
