In my mind's eye,
I see the fog like a shroud of lace,
Covering the river's face.
The sun above like a glowing ball of fire,
In the heavens climbs higher and higher!
The Eastern sky is beautiful with God's
It sure is a lovely morning!
I might expect this to be like any other
But, time proves it to be unique in its own
In the woods tiny creatures stir,
Amongst the trees, pine, oak, beech and fir!
A sleepy-eyed horned owl, a creature of the
Blinks its eyes as if to say, "Who turned on
Chipmunks hurry and scurry here and there,
As the cawing of a flock of crows fills the
A spider's web gilded with dew catches my
'Tis a trap for some unwitting fly!
Nearby, an army of ants get their exercise,
Moving a load many times their size!
Busy bees work hour after hour,
Extracting nectar from the heart of a
I hear the sound of a babbling brook,
And stroll over to take a look!
I am amazed at its being so clear!
On the bank I see the footprints of a deer!
I gaze off to my right a hundred feet or so,
And see a baby fawn, a buck, and a doe!
As I cherish in my mind this beautiful
In surroundings so serene,
I become as excited as a young boy,
Knowing God gave me this moment to enjoy!
