Cinderella
had been bidden to the shadowed dust
Yet what was the secret charm upon her face,
How we ponder, could be born that inner joy
To bear the majesty of such alluring grace.
What hope lay there calmly, deep within her
heart
For she had no way to see what lay ahead,
Why such humility all the while
With countenance glowing sweet gentle smiles.
Why so submissive that night, to obey
unflinchingly
At the clock's harsh strike of twelve,
With no understanding of the mystery,
The wonder, tomorrow held.
Could her heart have held the hope
That all of heaven beckoned another lovely day,
For though life seemed so hallowed now
Might tomorrow promise her another way.
Then did that thrill, when mocked to naught
Collapse her into cold despair,
No, nothing stripped her of that blessed hope,
The hidden promise, her life prayer.
Her heart still courageously reached beyond
So when the cry of new birth came,
She was willing every miracle to come
When her beloved softly called her name.
In time fulfilled, love tapped upon her door,
Her heart prepared, her prince would come,
For life with Him forever-more.
Her dream was realized
Of all that she was hoping for.

Poetry from the Heart
Revelation 3:10-12, 19:6-9
Since you have kept my command to endure
patiently,
I will also keep you from the hour of trial that
is going to come
upon the whole world to test those who live on
the earth.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have,
so that no one will take your crown.
He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the
temple of my God.
Never again will he leave it.
I will write on him the name of my God
and the name of the city of my God,
the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of
heaven from my God; and I will also
write on him my new name.
Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and His bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
(purity) was given her to wear."
Then the angel said to me, "Write:
'Blessed are those who are invited to
the wedding supper of the Lamb!' "
