If I had the wings of an eagle,
I would up and fly away,
And fly far over the clouds,
On a bright and sunny day.

I’d fly all over this beautiful world,
Landing from there to there,
Long enough to grasp the beauty,
Of different Countries so fair.

I would fly so free; the wind and me,
Fly into the bright blue sky,
And look for the place angels live,
There I would rest and lie.

Then I would go on my journey,
Far over the land and sea,
Just looking for my destiny,
That’s waiting there for me.

Oh, to have wings like an eagle,
Just to fly into the air,
Away from all my burdens,
That I must carry here.
