Matthew 28:6
"He is not here: for He is risen, as He said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

It must have been a beautiful day
When the two Marys took their walk.
And as they went to Christ's tomb
They had a solemn talk.

When they came to the place,
They were very, very surprised.
For standing there in robes of white
Stood an angel before their eyes.

In a voice that was tender
The angel said, "Please be not afraid.
I know you seek Jesus who was dead,
And in this tomb did lay.

But He is not here
In this rock prison.
Our Mighty Jesus died,
But He is now risen!"

When Mary and Mary looked in the tomb
They saw that this was true.
They turned and ran back to the town;
Their hearts no longer blue!

"He is risen!" they cried to all they saw,
And told them of the way
The angel had told them the wonderful news,
On this the first Easter Day.
