Loneliness is a terrible thing,
That will ultimately bring,
The feeling that nobody cares.
With it satan also tries to deceive,
And make you believe,
That God will no longer answer your prayers.

Ah, but God knows your fears,
And when you pray He always hears!
He knows all about your loneliness too.
Did not Jesus once say,
He had no place for His head to lay?
So, no doubt at times,
He was lonely just like you.

So, place yourself in His nail scarred hands.
For you see, Jesus truly understands,
The loneliness you're feeling inside.
He's the Friend you've been looking for!
Just swing open your heart's door,
And with you He will ever abide!

Then, when there comes a day,
When clouds get dark and skies are gray,
And you feel the slightest urge to get blue,
Just remember that the Lord of all,
Who even knows when the sparrows fall,
Will always take good care of you!
