As the year comes to a close
Don't walk in the shadow of the past.
It was good but gone too fast.
Don't worry about the wrong path you chose
But turn to the road ahead
Facing the future instead.

Learn from the past
And lessons that will last.
Dream the dreams that are bright
Not with trepidation and fright
But hope and good cheer
For the coming New Year.

Though the future for you
Is a challenge of what to do
Don't let the past hold you back.
Lift your head, stiffen your back
And pick up the slack
To move on knowing God will carry you through

Always know there is a light

That will light your way
