I got up this morning,
Set my feet down on the floor,
And started out walking,
As I had often done before.
I raised my eyes toward Heaven,
And I began to pray,
"Thank You very kindly Lord,"
"For giving me a brand new day!
"I know that I'm so unworthy,"
"Of Your mercy, love, and grace,"
"For as a sinner I shunned You,
"And cursed You to Your face."
"But, one night at an old-fashioned altar,"
"I knelt down in prayer,"
"And as tears streamed down my face,
"I found You waiting there!
"The load of sin I carried,"
"Had become such a part of me."
"But Jesus when You took it,
"I felt so wonderful and free!"
"Now I long to tell my story,"
"Wherever I may go,"
"For the precious Blood of Jesus,"
"Has washed me white as snow!"
