Life is like a great sailing ship,
Seaworthy and gently flowing,
Along with the prevailing winds,
Suddenly the gale winds start blowing.

Tossing the ship about with waves,
The fierceness of the winds batter,
Hold firmly to the helm lest control is lost,
Steer skillfully or the vessel will shatter.

Hide not in the depths of the ship,
But keep it steadfastly in control,
Reach out to the One that calms the seas,
He made you and will keep safe your soul.

Tell the Lord the troubles that overcome you,
Let Jesus be in the seat of command,
The troubled seas of life may surround you,
But God has massive strength in His Hands

Cry out as the gulls of the sea,
Loudly let your voice be heard,
He is waiting for us to beckon,
Forget not His precious word.

We are His sheep and He the great Shepherd,
No obstacle stands in the Lord's way,
Humbleness and love of our Jesus,
Will bring back calm to the waters today.

Stand on the deck and sing out,
Praises to the Majestic King,
You will see the storms retreat,
Peace to our lives Christ will bring.
