I saw this cute little fellow,
As I passed his house one day,
With a tiny stick in hand,
He was really hard at play.

I said what kind of game is this,
Do you think that I might play?
Oh, no, he said.
You must do this a certain way.

Then teach me the rules,
And what do I say?
He said you just watch me,
I'll show you the way.

With the tiny stick,
He put it in the sand,
And wiggled it around a bit
With his tiny little hand.

Doodle Bug, Doodle Bug please come out
Your house is on fire,
And from this swirl of sand,
Came this tiny wiggly wire.

Now see, It's not hard to do,
But you must follow all the rules.
If you don't do it just right,
He'll stay all day in school.

I also like to play with June bugs,
Now that's more fun to me.
Just tie a string around his leg,
And then you turn him free.

He'll fly around in all directions,
Like an airplane in the air,
And when he's tired you let him go,
Releasing him with care.

I have no brother or sister,
So I just play alone,
I can play these games by myself,
Without even leaving home.

Thank you for stopping by,
But really I'm ok.
There's so many things to do in this world,
That keep me busy every day.
