Dawning of a new day
Gives another chance to renew
My spirit drawing close to You,
Father God, for that is what I pray.

Another chance to dispel the dark
That lurks at times in my heart
And bring in the sunlight
To flood my soul making it right.

Another chance to comprehend
That You are my most faithful friend
Walking beside me until the end
Lifting me up when I fall
If on Your Name I call.

New opportunity ahead for me
To always do what is right
Chasing away the darkness of night
And the shadows that hide the truth
So I can plainly see
What is before me.

Another day to do what I can
To lend a helping hand
To those desperate and alone
With little hope to go on.

With nothing held back
Picking up the slack
That I may show love and brotherhood
To those I meet on the way
I travel this day.

May I be loving and kind
Speaking words that uplift
Healing any rift
If there be one
Pointing others to the Father and the Son.

May this day be one I am worthy of
Wasting not a second nor hour
But busy doing what I am bid
As my wonderful Savior did.
