When I think about my life
I find I am most blessed.
Let me count my blessings one by one
Starting in the morning
And going past the setting of the sun.

I am blessed to have a comfortable home
With heating in winter
And cooling from the summer heat
A comfortable bed in which to sleep
And plenty of food to eat.

I have loved ones who care about me
Siblings who still keep in touch
And children who love me very much
As well as a heritage of family from which I came
With extended family who love and care for me.

Friends I have who bless my life
Lifting me up in prayer
When life is filled with strife
Letting me know they are always there
For me to lean on when times get rough
And that is a blessing more than enough.

I have freedom to go where I desire
Without questions of why I am there
And no one to hold me hostage
But free as a bird am I
To travel across borders open and free
With no one guarding me.

I have a loving God Who created me
Who loves without condition
Promising life free from perdition
With hope that I will ever be at home with Him
In Heaven for eternity
When from this life I am set free.

I will never voice complaint
For though I am no saint
I am most blessed of all men.
Forgiveness is extended to me
For sins I commit from day to day
And guidance to direct me along the way
As a better person I strive to be.

I live in the land of the free
Blest by God from its foundation
With freedoms guaranteed
For which many fought and shed their blood
To maintain freedom for all manhood
In the most blessed nation...
America, the land of the free.
