A Robin had fallen to the ground When he saw me he tried to scurry away He seemed so frightened and alone My heart cried for him. With him I had to stay. I ever so gently picked him up and placed it in a cage. I bound his wounded wing, fed and gave him water every day. He was still leery, but he began to trust in me. With care and love he grew stronger in every way. As time went by his wing began to mend and move about, I gave him some freedom; I let him fly around the room, He knocked over a few trinkets and hit the windows too. Thankfully a few mosquitoes, spiders and bugs met their doom. The day came when the Robin could fly a distance Time had come to set him free, He could sing in the meadows and pick worms from the ground. He is a bird and free he is supposed to be. Isn’t that just like God To bind up our wound and nurture us each day. Waiting for us yield and trust in him, So he can build us up and guide us safely along the way. Shirley J Oremland© Website
