What a beautiful, joyous time of
year
It has so many aspects and subjects for us all,
For the bird watchers it brings a different whistle
It brings changes of kind, colors and a different call.
For the table a variety of food to eat
Squash, turnips, pumpkins and apple pie,
There are grapes to be picked straight from the vine
Jelly to be made and some turned into wine.
Ah, just look at those brilliant autumn colors
Almost every shape of leaf and color can be found,
There is red, orange, purple, gold and green.
They are dry, crumbling, and landing on the ground.
Too soon this awesome season will be past
Winter will be knocking at our doors,
We will prepare for Halloween treats
The day children are waiting for.
