On Thanksgiving day we gather together
Cozy and warm in spite of cold weather.
Thanking the Lord for all the good things,
The bitter and sweet, that farm-life brings.
The food on the table, looking so
great
Is tempting, just waiting to be ate.
Things from the garden, and cranberries sweet,
And in the place of honor rests the turkey meat.
We bow our heads, saying Grace
Happy to all be in one place.
Talking and laughter then fill the room
Dispelling the outdoor pre-winter gloom.
Isn't it grand, that once a year
We come home to loved ones so dear?
Showing gratitude by all we do and say
Happy to be together on Thanksgiving Day.
